Club Twelve 88 was founded in Abuja in 1988 by twelve friends. To begin with, members sough to foster genuine friendship amongest themselve and their families as to grow the club into one big family united in purpose and vision of a great Nigeria Capital. A crucial part of that vision and desire is to serve their community in area of critical needs such as caring for the poor, the homeless and the physically challenged people living in the young but rapidly growing city. Looking back now at the 1988 scanty socio-political environment of Abuja, such altruistic vision and desire of those gentlement cannot but be commended for its selfless, patriotic and humanistic flavour. It is now nearly thirty one years since they took the honourable step and the club has grown in size from twelve to over thirty members. Happily, most members (about 70%) are still based in Abuja while others are engaged in Lagos, Ibadan, and Kaduna etc. Regrettably, even if inevitable, some of those tweleve men have been called to their heavenly home. We pray for the repose of their souls.

Within the past thirty one year, the club has carried out several community/humanitarian project. It made numerous donations to some hospital around Abuja and provided a well to which was fixed a hand pump to supply clean water in the Kuchigoro community along Abuja airport road which was commissioned by Prof Ikejani-Clark, the then minister of state FCT. That is not all, the more recent years the specific of the clud’s services and humanitarian are as follows:
Year 2001- Donation of cash and materials to the Karu Orphanage home
Year 2004- Cash donation to the save steve Kadiri heart/Kidney transplant fund
Year 2005- Donation of Provision and beddings to the Karmo Orphanage
Year 2010- Donation od saterlite receiver system, TV set and bedding to the Kuje school of Handicap
Year 2014- In collaboration with FMAWR, the reactivation of dorehole in the Durumi IDP camp
Year 2017/2018- Funding of surgical Facial Reconstruction of Three cleft child patient.
Year 2018 – 2022 – We provided generator and educational materials to the physically challenged student of UBE School for the Deaf at Kuja FCT- Abuja. Also worth of note is the position of hearing and reading aids for Blinds, Deaf children at Jabi FCT-Abuja.

Indeed, Club Twelve 88 has remained convinced that the effore of the government need to be augmented by the private initiatives to enhance quality of life of the Nigerian citizenry. It was in this mode that the club is lunched 10million Naira appeal fund to commemorate the investiture of it 10th president with the sole oblective of providing special technological rquilment to certain schools in FCT for the traning and education of the Blind and the Deaf and Dumb.

Through its glorious vayage, the ship of the club has been captained by able and amiable gentleman as president. They are Deacon D.O Olubiyi(1988-1990), Mr. T.A. Adetoba(1990- 1993), Elder S.A Adewuni(1993-1995), Prince Samson Ataiyero (1995-1999), Alhaji Biliyianu Adigun(1999-2002), Barr Issac O. Olarewaju (2003-2007), EngrS.A. Adesina(2007-2011), Engr J.O Obafisoye(2011-2016), the late Arc Niyi Kahide(2016-2018) and ESV Olusola Odebode (2018-2022) by the special grace of God, (Rear Admiral A.G Adedeji Rtd) CON, who is geing formally presented with the insignia of office on 27th October 2022 as the Club’s 11th presiden.
